3. Strong agree. You don't go to the airport to receive someone unless they tell you their flight number, do you? ;P Without the flight number, you can be waiting at the wrong gate, or even the wrong terminal! Contrary to what Lodewijk sees, I think it is necessary to ask for the flight number and doing so doesn't give the false impression that the reception team will proactively help solve immigration and customs problems.
