I often get asked a very different question: What are the benefits of paying to join WMUK?
Answer: I think members have priority when applying for expenses-paid travel on official Wikimedia duties. (See "Microgrants".) It's a great deal if you want to volunteer a lot of your time without volunteering all your money!
