Dear Samuel, Thanks for your thoughts on this, and for your endorsement of our general language approach. In an ideal world we’d be able to offer all the languages of Wikimedia communities across all days. In light of the situation in Ukraine, we decided to prioritize interpretation into Ukrainian as an additional language supported on two days of the event. Unfortunately we won’t be able to extend it this time around, but future Wikimanians will continue to experiment with different language approaches.
Regarding the map of in person local events, we are collecting local events on this page <https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/In-person_events> and are asking/reminding all affiliates to please add their events there. Once we have a good list, a Core Organising Team member will be starting a map with those events. We’d like to invite everyone to collaborate on and add to the map once it is started.
