Yes, hosting an event in conjunction with the Art+Feminism campaign in
March is a good idea, but certainly not required, especially if a date in
February works better for the hosts and parties involved. Hosting an event
as part of a larger campaign just means less outreach is needed to promote
the event because social media and media/press outlets help spread the word
about the larger campaign. You/we should definitely do what works for us,
though.
