This is a great opportunity to showcase some Wikimedia projects to the public
yet again, I hope the meet up comes off this time around.
Wikidata is less often misunderstood, I would be happy to give an introductory
tutorial. Some old community members have in the past expressed interest to
learn about querying Wikidata, perhaps the talk should rather be based on that,
but I’m not sure which is the best. Lets hear a few more voices first.

Remember discussion below from last year?
The NSBE community at Legon has finalized the meetup schedule.
Date: 26th March, 2016.
Venue: Seminar Hall, School of Engineering, Legon
Time: 8:30 am to 10:30 am*
Want to do a presentation about Wikimedia the program? We can look at preparing
a program immediately.
Can we make Wikiversity the primary subject for discussion this time around,
instead of Wikipedia? Or maybe WikiData? Even better, promoting the local
languages? Wikimedia Commons?
I think the Wikimedia world is big and shouldn't be focused on Wikipedia only.
The attendees are likely students of Legon. Wikiversity might interest them.
WikiData, yes! Commons for sharing photo is a great option!
Writing articles on Wikipedia? Duh!
Let's kick into discussion and see which will work best.
thanks
* I normally rig schedule times to compensate for GMT (Ghana Man Time).
However, the time above is "what you see is what you get"

Yep. Exams (or a form of test) supposed to happen next week Saturday ooh, but
lecturer say noooo, must happen this weekend by force.
Both level 200 and 300 students.
On the bright site, more time to plan.

Would have been a great event. Unfortunately, due an impromptu exams
rescheduled to be on this Saturday, the event won't be possible.
The NSBE team at Legon are looking at next year January-february, when the
semester reopens to hold the event.
We are sorry, and hope to share the time and date of the rescheduled event soon
when it becomes available.
Thanks.

If we put together a great report on how this turns out I could personally
present it to my friend Doctor Thomas Mensah who is a Mac Eminent engineer, has
over 14 patents and was a Nobel Nominee and the list goes on and on...
Great initiative guys, I can't wait to see/share the outcome.

A big thanks to Nyande Stephen, one of the former students of Koforidua sectech
now at Legon, and the current president of the NSBE, for spending months in
getting this arrangements in place.
After months of preparations, opportunity finally opened for Wikimedia Ghana
User Group to hopefully join the NSBE community at Legon this 7th November for
this meetup. All are invited.
Below is the invitation message from Nyande (tweaked a bit for brevity)
-----
Let's make a date with NSBE and Wikimedia Ghana User Group on the 7th of
November as we discuss the opportunities Wikimedia Foundation sites have to
offer and how we could improve Ghanaian and African related contents on
Wikipedia.
Date: Saturday 7th November
Rate: free
Venue: Seminar Room, School Of Engineering Sciences, University of Ghana,
Legon, Accra.
Time: 9am - 12pm GMT
NSBE, Power!
-----
I will be there myself (in my numbers). I know this is an impromptu
arrangement, but it'll be great if we all can join in our numbers. Maybe it
could be a mini meetup before our upcoming 'mega' meetup.
For further enquiries, please get in touch with Stephen, or simply respond to
this mail. Thanks.
7th November!
