Yes

From what I read in the discussions, the challenges were several folds. Missing references was one, but often, it was also information being incorrect as well. They were not deleted (moved to draft) because of a notability issue, but really due to quality issues. And since the biographies are living people... we just can't stay with that risk (over 16 000 articles concerned !) From what I understood (not 100% sure of that), they will only be kept in draft for a while, then the drafts will be deleted.

yes, samuel, add more and move back. just compare belinda kanda:
* on wp:en:drafts, wrong and unsourced
* on wp:de : https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belinda_Kanda , properly sourced, at least some useful info

same for shaila okai:
* wp:de, properly sourced: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheila_Okai

i agree that the draft move and breaking the link to the german wikipedia is not really helping the case here. a tag "translate from german" would have been the better option. maybe we could dump this on the bot authors to improve?

(including wikimedia-gh as we talk about ghana football players)

    Hello @Florence,

    I took a look a the links and opened randomly several of them
    among which:

      * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Sheila_Okai
        <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Sheila_Okai>
      * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Flore_Enyegue
        <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Flore_Enyegue>
      * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Basilea_Amoa-Tetteh
        <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Basilea_Amoa-Tetteh>

    In my humble opinion, I do not see any substantive reason to
    delete them. Of course they are merely stubs, but stubs with a
    least one reference. What do you suggest? Adding additional
    references and moving them back to the main space?

    I am afraid the bot will do the same bulk deletion.

        Hello there

        So....I just checked the recent activity on the Wiki Loves
        Women assessment board.

        And my attention was raised by a serious list of red links
        (which used to be blue... right ?)

        It appears that all those articles were bot-moved from article
        status to "draft" status. They were all created by
        User:Sander.v.Ginkel (for a grand total of 16,104 articles)
        due to various quality issues.
        All articles created were moved to draft space, where they can
        rescued one by one (being fixed first).

        Upon quick checking... roughly 300 african women articles were
        concerned by the purge. It appears that many of them are about
        footballers (I opened 10 articles and the 10 were of that
        sort), a lot being Ghanean

        Quick sampling

        * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Belinda_Kanda
        <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Belinda_Kanda> (Ghanean
        football player)
        * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Maureen_Eke
        <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Maureen_Eke> (Nigerian
        football player)
        * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Aminatu_Ibrahim
        <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Aminatu_Ibrahim> (Ghanean
        football player)

        It is possible to volunteer to rescue those articles (fix
        them, then move them back in the main space).

        Main role required... sourcing... in particular to prove
        notability.

        Please help :)
