I rather think the more fundamental question is (for any software
solution) "does this tool enable us to build the encyclopedia, better
than its predecessor?".

So if I say in a discussion in which you participated, much earlier,
"I agree with what Eloqeunce said", and you subsequently change your
user name to ErikM, my comment would be made nonsensical?
