Hoi, If anything the Wikimedia Foundation is about providing free access and provide it to everyone who needs it on an equal basis. When this changes, when people pay for superior service that is not available for everyone I will really hate it and the people who had us deviate so much from where we came from.
There is a difference for paying for a general service we do not provide yet. There is a difference for paying for additional hardware, bandwidth and services at cost. As long as the services are advertised openly I do not mind. When a specialised service provides a general need, it should become freely available.
