Hi everyone, Open, facilitated community conversations for the pre-final movement strategy recommendations finished on February 21, 2020. I would like to sincerely thank everyone – individual contributors, affiliates, and the Wikimedia Foundation – who took part in the discussions and shared feedback.
== What happens next == We have summarized the input received from across the movement and compiled it in a short report, which is now on Meta . This report provides a brief overview of the major areas of support and debate regarding the 13 recommendations and the principles, and ways to improve the document as a whole. This report and the linked material will be the input provided to the writers for finalizing the recommendations next week. As some affiliate events are still under way, incoming information up until the meeting will be summarized. === Integrating feedback and finalizing recommendations === Detailed feedback from communities, guidance from the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees, and input from reviewers will be reviewed and analyzed to help create the final version of the recommendations. For this, six former working groups members and one strategy salon community organizer as well as the core team and Wikimedia Foundation Chief of Staff, Ryan Merkley, will meet from March 10 to 12 in New York City to work together in person. They will be joined for part of the meeting by Wikimedia Foundation Executive Director Katherine Maher. Following this meeting, the content and language will be reviewed for clarity and then translated, and we aim to have the recommendations finalized and published in late March. == Update from the Wikimedia Foundation’s Board of Trustees == The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees has reviewed the pre-final version of the movement strategy recommendations. Last week, they published a statement outlining their thoughts on the process overall and the recommendations. I’d like to thank the Board of Trustees for their careful and thoughtful review of the recommendations and for the support and guidance that they have provided throughout the movement strategy process.
