But yes - recommended best practice for organisations is to run their own instance. Putting an instance up on a domain you own is also a clear stamp of authenticity. Twitter has stayed up so far, but bits are visibly falling off. The assorted official Wikimedia accounts should be posting in the main federation too, from an official presence. - d.
