Dear all, This week the Basque Wikimedians User Group is launching a new series on human evolution for our Ikusgela video project:
* Wikipedia: https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari:Hezkuntza/Ikusgela#Gure_arbasoak * Commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Our_ancestors_videos_by_Ikusgela * YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Ikusgela/videos The videos will follow the schema of "The Ancestor's Tale" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ancestor%27s_Tale), making a journey from humankind towards the first cell in reverse chronological order. The videos are presented by... well, by myself, and we have worked with the Cathedra of Scientific Culture of the University of the Basque Country to make the best scripts possible. As usual, the videos are also subtitled, and subtitles can be added to other languages (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:WikiProject_Subtitling_Ikusgela#Our_Ancestors). The first season will cover from modern humans to all the primates, and consists of a short presentation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0znjunZT9wI) and 15 more videos. The first one was published yesterday (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLtnmsaB2Wg). Along our third season of videos about philosophy (https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari:Hezkuntza/Ikusgela#Filosofia) and the second of universal literature (https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari:Hezkuntza/Ikusgela#Literatura_unibertsala), we will be presenting two videos per week until March, when a new series is starting. All contents are freely licensed, so feel free to reuse, readapt, subtitle and spread them. Best, Galder
