Hi all, I’m writing to let you know that Wikimedia Ukraine published and submitted our annual reports for 2024.
On the one hand, 2024 was a year of development and growth for us. We hit multiple milestones, for example: * 100,000 entries in Ukraine’s unique volunteer-curated Wiki Loves Monuments lists; * 1300 educators who graduated from our “Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom” online course; * our largest-ever annual Wikiconference that brought 120+ people across two cities and online; * almost 50 events in 10 days during our annual Wikimarathon dedicated to Ukrainian Wikipedia’s birthday. In 2024 we launched new awards, started new courses to attract underrepresented groups, made progress with language diversity, innovated and kept traditions alive. We also celebrated Wikimedia Ukraine’s 15-year anniversary! On the other hand, we’ve continued to live under Russia’s full-scale military invasion. The war has shaped every aspect of Ukraine’s life and Wikimedia Ukraine’s work. In addition to our main programs, we continued to support the community in wartime conditions, led events about Ukrainian refugees abroad, and communicated extensively with the global Wikimedia movement. Our full detailed report is available in Ukrainian: https://ua.wikimedia.org/?curid=10140 You can also read a Diff post with key highlights in English (and a few more Diff posts linked in that one!): https://diff.wikimedia.org/2025/01/19/wikimedia-ukraine-in-2024-5-biggest-projects-5-new-initiatives/ Best Regards Anton Protsiuk Programs Coordinator at Wikimedia Ukraine
