Valerio, Speaking as someone who had graduated with an accounting adjacent major, the financial reports which accounting students would refer to for their education purposes are already provided for at https://wikimediafoundation.org/who-we-are/financial-reports/. The information in these reports is usually sufficient for academic purposes. Further information or details are really not necessary in general.
My understanding from earlier conversations with Lane (in the Discord server) is that Lane wanted to use the social capital behind the position to empower students or further analysis into the financials. What Victoria alludes to is there is a potential for private information beyond what's provided publicly being shared in such endeavours whether it would be accidentally or purposefully. Would Lane do it? Probably not. But is that how the organization interpret the statement? Probably yes. Just a couple of questions: 1. Is it really not possible to provide vaguely anonymized financial reports to people? (e.g. to candidates) (P.S. Premising that I do not fully understand the total confidentiality of the WMF financial reports) If no: 2. Do we really not have a Non Disclosure Agreement for this kind of requests? (e.g. for Lane and for their university team) Thanks -valerio _______________________________________________ Wikimedia-l mailing list -- [email protected], guidelines at: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists/Guidelines and https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia-l Public archives at https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/[email protected]/message/YE5ONVV2LHDV4XMZ4K3646S224KCRVWB/ To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] _______________________________________________ Wikimedia-l mailing list -- [email protected], guidelines at: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists/Guidelines and https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia-l Public archives at https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/[email protected]/message/O75U5CIS4ULWGZFPMUAMDBZBDEABRJMZ/ To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
