For future WMF Board selections we could discuss adding a [[w:en:None of
the above]] <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/None_of_the_above> option which
forces a new slate of candidates.  I'm not sure how well it would play with
ranked choice, especially if we're filling more than one seat.  I'm also
not sure it would have the disciplinary effect you're looking for, since
invalidating a round of selection probably translates to simply leaving the
current Board in place for longer.  A "none of the above" option is
included on ballots in some democracies but also in Argentina, Belarus and
North Korea so it's hard to say whether it's the remedy we need.

It's never too late to push for real, legal Board elections perhaps by
having historical "members" sue the WMF to reverse the evidently illegal
2006 change to its bylaws, as documented in [[meta:
