>From 1 August to 30 September 2026, we invite Wikimedians, photographers, and cultural enthusiasts across Nigeria to capture and upload original photographs that celebrate the richness and diversity of Yoruba heritage. Your photographs can help preserve our cultural memory and make Yoruba heritage freely accessible to millions of people through Wikimedia Commons, Wikipedia, and other Wikimedia projects. What can you photograph? We welcome photographs of: - Historical monuments and landmarks - Traditional architecture - Festivals and cultural ceremonies - Yoruba arts and crafts - Indigenous cuisine - Traditional clothing and adornment - Music and dance performances - Sacred sites and shrines - Markets and community life - Cultural landscapes - Traditional occupations - Indigenous knowledge and other expressions of Yoruba heritage How to participate 1. Photograph Yoruba heritage. 2. Upload your images to Wikimedia Commons during the contest period. 3. Add clear descriptions, locations, dates, and relevant categories. 4. Stand a chance to win exciting prizes while contributing to free knowledge.
