Hello everyone, I would like to invite additional community input regarding a proposal to run a CentralNotice banner on English Wikipedia for Wiki Loves Peace 2026, an international photography campaign documenting peace-related heritage, memorials, museums, monuments, public art, and other sites connected to peace, reconciliation, remembrance, and disarmament.
The discussion is currently taking place on the English Wikipedia Village Pump. Community members have raised a number of thoughtful points regarding banner visibility, frequency, anonymous users, and the suitability of CentralNotice for this type of campaign. I am seeking broader feedback from the community. Discussion page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)#Wiki_Loves_Peace_2026 Current proposal: - Banner would run for two weeks total (7-14 October and 23-30 October 2026). - Maximum reach limited to 25% of eligible users. - Proposed frequency reduced to as few as 2 impressions per week per user based on community feedback. - Campaign is already being promoted through mailing lists, affiliates, community groups, social media, and Commons. Please do weigh in your opinion. Thank you for your time and consideration.
