Election time can be a difficult moment for your digital safety. Political issues take center stage, emotions run high, and online harassment, from unwanted messages to threats and doxing, becomes an easy way to target Wikimedians. In this 90-minute session, you will learn practical steps to protect your privacy and stay safe while contributing to Wikimedia projects and participating in movement activities. By the end, you will be able to: - Understand the added digital security risks that emerge during election time - Connect and learn with fellow Wikimedians on their experiences and strategies - Review and adjust privacy settings to limit the personal data that can be found or linked to you. - Spot early warning signs of targeted harassment or doxing, document incidents safely, and know when and how to report or seek support. - Create a simple personal safety plan with next steps and trusted resources you can put into practice right away.
