Hi everyone, With joy I announce that the 2025 Annual Report from Wikimedia Deutschland has been published.
Under the heading “Knowledge is Human,” we have compiled a comprehensive overview of our projects, topics, and events into three main articles. These highlight the many areas in which Wikimedia Deutschland is fundamentally committed to Wikipedia, Wikidata, and free knowledge, and in particular show what we have achieved together over the past year. Supporting the volunteer community in Germany was once again a major focus: Wikimedia Deutschland continued to strengthen the community through funding, services, events, and opportunities for exchange and participation. The annual report also shows how we advocated for free access to knowledge and better conditions at the national and international political levels in 2025. Another article focuses specifically on the further development of Wikidata, community building across continents, and the launch of the Embedding Project. The annual report is available online at https://www.wikimedia.de/2025/ (also in English) and as a PDF here <https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jahresbericht_2025_Wikimedia_Deutschland.pdf> .
