Dear Australian Wikimedians, I have just been informed there's a job going at the National Library helping to run their newspaper digitisation project. This is an amazing project and is one of the most important resources historians and social researchers have in the country. Furthermore, they have a really cool wiki-like system for allowing people to help improve the OCR text. This is taking crowdsourcing to the next level. Please see below for the full details. I'd love to see a Wikimedian get this job! Furthermore, Rose Holley, the director of this project, will be a presenter at our upcoming GLAM-WIKI glam.wikimedia.org.au conference in Canberra. As it turns out, she has been personally creating Wikipedia articles about old Australian newspapers and linking to that article from within her newspapers project - a mutually beneficial relationship!
