For those concerned about how hard it may be to do a Wikinews article for
Wikimedians to the Games, I haven't done a Paralympic one but I did one
about the women's water polo at
http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Australian_women%27s_water_polo_team_takes_test_series_against_Great_Britain

The process wasn't that painful at all. There were a couple of things to
remember: Read the style guide. (Wikipedia says put 21 February 2012.
Wikinews says "Last Tuesday.") Write in active voice. Be factual and less
opinionated. If you're doing original research, put all your notes on the
talk page. Citations are not inline like Wikipedia but are at the end of
the article. The lead is probably the most important and hardest bit to
write as it needs to answer the five Ws. (Where, Who, Why, How, etc.) It
needs to summarise the article and make people want to write about it.
Pictures need to credit the photographer on the article page. Follow all
the directions listed on the help pages. Comment on talk pages of the
regulars if you have more questions.

I honestly put less work into it in some ways than I do taking an article
to DYK. It was a combination of using sources and original research. The
need to put sources at the end, rather than following facts made things
easier to write with out creating weird flow problems. If you haven't done
one before, I highly encourage it for Wikimedians to the Games or just
generally. :)
