Hello Every one,
I'm Ali Saeed, co-founder of a photography club in Alexandria, named "View
Finders". Also I was an active member in Arabic Wikipedia. Here is my old user
page in Wikipedia User:Ali_Saeed
Without any doubt I can help you to reach to many photographers, also a contact
with other photography clubs in Egypt. The thing I want to discuss here is how
will we manage this stuff. How will we announce, and target the photographers.
The most challenging part from my point of view is not the pictures, it's how
we can find an easy way for the photographers to put their pictures on
Wikipedia without any long tutorials. Our main target is to find photographer
interested to contribute in this project, but not to make them face the dilemma
of the wiki codes.
So I suppose to create a very short tutorial for photographer describing in a
very simple way how to deal with Wikimedia commons. I also recommend that this
tutorial to be a short video.
Also we may need to dedicate a team for select and publish the required topics.
Another thing, we have to focus on the benefits that the photographer will gain
from this project. The international exposure, prizes if exist. Also the
benefits if a photography club as an organization want to share in this project
whether for my photography club or any other club.
Best Regards,Ali Saeed
