I am very skeptical about the effectiveness of small companies, media firms initiating a meetup.
Without at least one single experienced Wikipedian in each venue, the value and authenticity of the event is not guaranteed. Networking and other stuff may be ok for blog camps and to an extent to linux user groups. But not for an official event of a foundation of like this. The best way out of this: Each Ten Wiki party page should list at least 1 to 3 experienced Wikipedians as organizers. They should link their user pages. Also, this event should be announced in either English Wikipedia India portal or respective Indic language village pumps and get their approval. Community should take this as serious as trademark violation / copyright violation. Else, there are good chance that we send wrong message. Ravi
