I would expect the major potential stumbling block to be finding a sufficient number of interested people to attend - particularly if you're holding the sessions in Edinburgh, which is rather out of the way for most of the UK populace (sadly).
Depending on the amount of funds you're after from Wikimedia UK to support the event, you might want to put in a request for a microgrant (up to £100; quick approval process): http://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/Microgrants or if larger, post it as an initiative (over £100; slower approval process; more details needed): http://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/Initiatives Basically: let us know what you need from Wikimedia UK, and we'll see what we can do to help.
