October will be a big month for Wikimedia events in Edinburgh! In addition to
the Ada Lovelace Festival of Wikipedia workshop on 3 October and the Edinburgh
Wikimeet on 27 October (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Meetup/Edinburgh_4), we
are also hosting an edit-a-thon on Early Photography in Scotland on 19 October.

The Edinburgh Calotype Club was the first photographic club in the world, and
two albums of their photographs are held by the National Library of Scotland
and the Edinburgh City Libraries, as well as many additional resources both
primary and secondary. We warmly invite anyone with an interest in the history
of photography or photography in general to help share the story of Edinburgh's
contribution to the early development of photography in the late 19th and
early 20th centuries!

Details about the event can be found on the events page at
https://uk.wikimedia.org/wiki/Early_Photography_in_Scotland_Edit-a-thon; please
share with friends and colleagues in and around Edinburgh, Wikipedians and
non-Wikipedians alike. There will be a training workshop for new editors held
before the edit-a-thon, and we will provide lunch and refreshments for all
participants.

Come join us for what I'm sure will be a brilliant event!
