Dear all

I hope that some of you will be able to join Wikimedia UK’s AGM this year,
which is taking place on Saturday 21st September 2024 from 10.00 - 11.30am.
The meeting will be online, and the agenda for the morning is here: AGM
Agenda <https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/2024_AGM>

Anyone can attend the AGM by registering here: Registration
<https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/wikimedia-uks-2024-agm-tickets-967976021337>
but you can only vote if you are a member. All members should have received
an email about the AGM in the past few weeks, so please let us know if you
think you should have received this but haven't. Or, if you've never been a
member or your membership has lapsed, please consider signing up here:

Trustee elections

This year we have three vacancies for elected trustees, and are keen to
hear from members of the Wikimedia community in the UK who would be
interested in joining the Board. The process for standing for election is
detailed here: Standing for Election
<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Board/Becoming_a_trustee> The deadline for
nominations is the end of the day on Friday 6th September. Please feel free
to reach out to me if you’re thinking of standing, particularly if you have
questions about the process or the role of Wikimedia UK’s trustees.

Resolutions

The Board of Trustees is proposing a set of ordinary resolutions for the
AGM, which have been posted on our wiki here: Resolutions
<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/2024_Annual_General_Meeting/Resolutions>. This
year’s resolutions from the board include a reduction in the minimum
individual membership fee from £5 to £1, in order to make it even easier
for students and others on low incomes to join.

Members are also very welcome to propose resolutions for consideration at
the AGM. A resolution could be about a change to Wikimedia UK’s governing
document (our Articles of Association
<https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Articles_of_Association>), a change to our
policies, or ways of working. Any member who wishes to propose a resolution
must email us at [email protected] by Friday 6th September. You can
either propose the suggested text of the resolution yourself, or ask for
our help with drafting it (if the latter, please get in touch in good time
before the deadline).

All best

Lucy
