Hello again folks, The deadline for submitting proposals to *Sandbox Sessions <https://wikimedia.org.uk/2025/04/community-sandbox-sessions/> *is a week from today - Tuesday 20th May - and we're still keen to hear from anyone <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScGmjZstJXQSMe9V8FyurYHEMbSthS2BrOatUwd6VQUsBSKlw/viewform?usp=header> who'd like to lead an online wiki-learning session for fellow members of the UK wiki community!
These sessions can be in any format - it could be a talk, a workshop, a discussion, or something else - on any area of the Wikimedia projects where you'd like to share your knowledge, or maybe explore a wiki-tool or topic with other Wikimedians. We're very happy to advise and give feedback on format, and do all the admin around publicising the events. (Basically - you come up with the idea, and lead the session, and we'll do the admin.) We've set this up in response to feedback that folks would like opportunities to take part in or lead activities which go beyond the traditional editathon, and would like to connect with other members of the UK community. If you'd like some suggestions to spark the imagination, there's a few examples on the blog here: https://wikimedia.org.uk/2025/04/community-sandbox-sessions/ You can submit your ideas here. <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScGmjZstJXQSMe9V8FyurYHEMbSthS2BrOatUwd6VQUsBSKlw/viewform?usp=header> If you've got any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!
