Hi Maarten, I hope you enjoy your time in South Africa, and thanks so much for offering to help out. I can't help out either as I'm not in Durban, but Durban is a centre for a lot of tourism and the like. Have you considered just signing up with a professional and reputable tour company to have a look around? As people who do it for a living, they will probably be able to show you more interesting things and do a better tour of the region than an enthusiastic amateur might.
