This wasn’t a statement by MultiChoice, but a line noted TV journalist Thinus Ferreira wrote in an article published on Channel24. His article followed the one I wrote for MyBroadband. Yes Channel24 is a News24 property, which is owned by the same company that owns MultiChoice, but it is still a news outlet, and Thinus is an independent journalist and TV critic. Thinus provides quotes from MultiChoice regarding its aggressive anti-piracy strategy dating back to 2013. However, the sum of MultiChoice’s comment on the job posting was this: "MultiChoice supports the protection of copyright and we’re committed to uphold the laws and regulations of the Copyright Act, which makes piracy a criminal offence. We work in partnership with a number of different agencies to investigate instances where content is pirated and made available online. Our aim is to ensure that our content providers continue to supply us world class quality shows and movies so that our customers continue to get the best entertainment experience possible.” Kind regards -- Jan Vermeulen _______________________________________________ WikimediaZA mailing list [email protected] https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimediaza To unsubscribe, send an email to [email protected]
