Dear Wikiquote Community, We’re thrilled to announce that Wikimania 2025 is just around the corner, happening in Nairobi, Kenya, from August 6–9, with a pre-conference on August 5! This year marks 20 years of Wikimania, and the theme, "Wikimania at 20: Inclusivity. Impact. Sustainability.", celebrates the incredible journey of knowledge-sharing and collaboration across our communities.
The Call for Program Proposals is ongoing, and we’re eager to see contributions from the Wikiquote family! The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2025. Your voice matters. Proposals can be presented in various formats: ● Remote presentations from the comfort of your home or workplace. ● Pre-recorded sessions to share at the conference. ● Onsite presentations in Nairobi, Kenya. We invite you to submit proposals that align with the conference theme and showcase the unique impact of Wikiquote in capturing the wisdom and creativity of humanity. To help spark ideas, here are a few topics that may align with the conference theme: ● Strategies for diversifying Wikiquote’s content and contributors to reflect global cultures and perspectives. ● Exploring how Wikiquote quotes and themes have been used in education, social movements, or storytelling. ● Initiatives to ensure the longevity and relevance of Wikiquote projects in an evolving digital landscape.
