TL;DR:
Wsexport now outputs PDF at https://tools.wmflabs.org/wsexport/tool/book.php +
we need you to test ePub 3 output as it will be used by default in a few weeks.

Long version:

Hello everyone,

Marc-Andre Peltier and I have added to wsexport the capacity to export PDF,
MOBI, TXT and RTF during the Lyon hackathon. This new feature uses Calibre
ebook converter system [1].
We created also a new instance of wsexport on Wikimedia Tool Labs:
https://tools.wmflabs.org/wsexport/tool/book.php to test these new formats.

We plan to do two big changes in the next few weeks:
1. Remove wsexport.wmflabs.org and redirect it to tools.wmflabs.org/wsexport .
It shouldn't disrupt anything as we will take care of keeping URLs valid.
2. Move the default format from ePub 2 to ePub 3. ePub 3, between other things,
allows to use HTML 5 and, so, to add new nice features to eBooks. As ePub 3
should be retrocompatible with ePub 2 this change should not disallow old
eReaders to read the ePubs. But, in order to ensure that this statement is
true, could you all try to read ePubs 3 created by wsexport on your old reading
devices and report bugs that may remain?

Cheers,

Thomas
