Unexperienced people may think repositories hosted under the
"Wikisource" organization are the 'official' and the most up-to-date

Why not to ask maintainers first?
I agree, I don't think it's a good idea for the org to have forks of
elsewhere-updated repos. If they're Wikisource-specific things, then
it'd be great to have the master repo under /wikisource (if the
maintainer is keen).
For discoverability, I think a page on oldwikisource or meta, listing
all Wikisource-related software, would be great. Then it wouldn't be
limited to GitHub only, and the GitHub org could have it as it's
homepage. (By the way, I set oldwikisource to be the org's homepage
yesterday.)
