Below is the English version.

You can help write the next newsletter: whenever you see information about
Wikimedia technology that you think should be distributed more broadly, you
can add it to the next newsletter at <
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News/Next>.

More information on how to contribute is available at <
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Tech/News#contribute>. You can also contact
me directly.

As always, feedback (on- or off-list) is appreciated and encouraged.

*Changes later this week*

   - Profiling statistics for an abuse filter
   <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:AbuseFilter> tell how often
   edits match the filter. The statistics for the abuse filters were reset
   after 10000 actions. Wikis can now decide to reset it more or less often.
   They can file a phabricator task

<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/maniphest/task/edit/form/1/?tags=AbuseFilter>
    to do so. [1] <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T132925>
   - [image: Advanced item] Abuse filters
   <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:AbuseFilter> will now treat
   integers and floats
   <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floating-point_arithmetic> more
   precisely. For example, 5/2 was rounded down to 2 but will now be 2.5 and
   2*4 will be the integer 8 and not the floating-point number 8.0. Division
   values are the only ones changed. For the rest only strict comparisons (
   === and !==) will be affected leaving the values unchanged. [2]

<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:AbuseFilter/Rules_format#Arithmetic>
   - [image: Recurrent item] The new version
   <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_1.31/wmf.30> of MediaWiki will
   be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 17 April. It will be on
   non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 18 April. It will be on all
   wikis from 19 April (calendar
   <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_1.31/Roadmap>).

*Meetings*

   - [image: Recurrent item] You can join the next meeting with the Editing
   team. During the meeting, you can tell developers which bugs you think are
   the most important. The meeting will be on 17 April at 18:30 (UTC)
   <https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20180417T1830>.
   See how to join
   <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Editing_team/Weekly_triage_meetings>.
   - [image: Recurrent item] [image: Advanced item] You can join the
   technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers
   can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 18 April at 15:00 (UTC)
   <https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20180418T15>.

*Future changes*

   - The new PDF renderer <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T181084> could
   not create PDFs from books
   <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/en:Wikipedia:Books>. Books are in this
   case collections of pages on a Wikimedia wiki. PediaPress
   <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/en:PediaPress> will take over development
   of the books-to-PDF function. [4]
   <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Reading/Web/PDF_Functionality>
   - [image: Advanced item] Pywikibot
   <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:MyLanguage/Manual:Pywikibot> will
   no longer support Python 2.7.2 and 2.7.3. [5]
   <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T191192>
   - [image: Advanced item] Volunteer developers can fill out the Wikimedia
   Communities and Contributors survey
   <https://wikimedia.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5ABs6WwrDHzAeLr?aud=DEV>.
   The last day is April 22 (UTC). This is a third-party service survey. See
