This was in i18n file for some reason - I changed it.

Where is this happening? Is it related to this bug?

It's very possible that your provider returns lowercase nickname and
MediaWiki user is automatically created.

It was actually there all the time, all I did is added a better UI.

There are more things to change to improve how OpenID integration works - I
already entered a few feature-bugs:
