The relevant spec is here: http://www.w3.org/TR/FileAPI/ Firefox 3.6 doesn't implement it exactly, since it was changed after Firefox's implementation, but the changes should mostly be compatible (as I understand it). But it's not good enough for large files, since it has to read them into memory. But anyway, what's the point in telling people to install an extension if we can just tell them to upgrade Firefox?
