The reason for the initial change is indeed to increase accesability. And 
the discussion I refer to was *not* in Wikipedia, but in the comment section 
of the commits in question. We had a very nice scheme ready for commit, when 
Brandon came in and simply ignored everything.

But... I have now submitted a new bug report (33335) with patch that 
outlines any change in detail. So the old discussion is moot as far as I am 
concerned. Please review and comment there.
