Hi, Filip, and welcome to our community.  Yes, you probably should have
started a new mailing list thread to introduce yourself rather than
replied to an existing thread on a different topic, but that's a minor
sin.  :-)

I hope you invent or find a Google Summer of Code project idea that
appeals to you, start writing a proposal (a subpage of your
mediawiki.org userpage would be a good place to put it), and share it
here and on our IRC channel
