Hey Martjin, The data for the Taxobox can be obtained from Wikipedia, itself, can't it? Imagine, we had a to generate the template for the animal "Elephant".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephant. We could write a python script which would be able to generate the data and store it in the Taxonomy template. And, we can choose it to generate equivalently in the display template. We can generate the taxobox using the Lua Template or we can derive our own template which would make it more user friendly.
