There are about a million Wikimedia tech staffers these days. Sumana should be able to find you a suitable mentor. However, if you can't find anyone, I think I can do it. What I lack in PHP skills and diplomacy I more than make up for with sass, enthusiasm, bluntness, and more! I have a few years' worth of experience administering MediaWiki wikis, posting to wikitech-l, triaging and sorting bugs in Bugzilla, and providing support in #mediawiki on freenode, in addition to a few other roles. In short, I know my way around MediaWiki and can provide decent technical advice, but I won't be able to help you code anything.
