Hmmmm... That is true.  I had been thinking the Special Page route, but you
make a good point in that it should be properly integrated into Mediawiki.

Although for the {{NoHistory:PageName}} bit you could use a transcludable
Special Page for that.

Is there functionality in the core for extensions to be able to create and
manage a namespace of their own?
