Hi, after just a few weeks in my role I have seen more often than not
the pattern of someone willing to help on certain bug report but then
having difficulties finding the right way to do it, and defaulting to
sending an email with questions to e.g. Sumana.
I have tried to write down a meta-answer proposed at
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/User:Qgil/Contributing_to_a_bug_report
You can help polishing the text and directing to it anybody needing help
with these first steps.
Andre, feel free moving it to the right location as soon as you are
happy with it.
