No, it isn't contradictory. The bugzilla account for "[email protected]" is either inexistent, or unused. The *e-mail address* exists, but that's irrelevant. Mails to this list are sent through the global configuration setting "globalwatchers" – not through the fact that it may or may not be on CC of a bug. At least that's how it is supposed to work, and should work again if not. This global configuration setting is afaik a core feature, what exactly does this "hack" entail? Because if someone wants those mails, they can simply subscribe to the list.
