With so many good ideas and so few developer resources, unfortunately it's unlikely that others will have the time or inclination to work on this. It's great that you're using jQuery as MediaWiki/Wikimedia development already loads this library. You'll just want to be sure that you're testing with a compatible library version and that you're following JavaScript coding conventions (<https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/CC/JS>).
