This is for creating a completely new property. And yes this takes some time - for a good reason. Anjali: Do you want to create a new property or just add a new value using an existing property? To clarify: When you go to https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q42 "instance of" is a property. The ones that exist can be used anywhere you want in Wikidata. "human" is the value.
