This doesn't really surprise me since it is a prototype but it should be easily fixable if this was to be production-ized.
I suspect since Winter is a prototype Brandon hasn't been testing against IE9. Brandon, maybe in future when releasing prototypes it would be good to state what browser is was built on and thus optimized for.
