My wiki (zeldawiki.org) used to have such an extension to inform people
when someone else was already editing the page. However, it was not
compatible with newer versions of MediaWiki and was subsequently removed. I
would like to voice my support for such features being integrated either
into the MediaWiki core or into natively packaged extensions.
