Dear Smriti, Thanks for raising the point about easy tags. I am guilty as charged.
Once a year I (wpmirrordev) file a large number of tasks. Most of them involve changing file permissions. I have now marked these tasks as easy. These tasks are appropriate for a first-time contributor. They would give you a reason to wander through the directory tree of core/, skins/, and extensions/ and learn where everything lives.
