As for realtime, I recommend caution with burdening Wikipedia with even more highly transient information, at least within our current database scheme.
For years Serbian Wikinews has been inundated with weather info, hourly (!), per city (!), and thus managed 3 million revisions with a handful of editors. All those edits have made the dump explode in size: 6 GB uncompressed for 77k articles with about 2k content on average. Even if disk size doesn't matter, it slows batch processing, and clutters page history.
