Apparently there hasn't been much discussion or deliberation about the advantages and disadvantages of this new feature compared to other communication channels. An essential functionality that seems to be missing compared to standard blog software (and indeed the venues that we normally use in the Wikimedia movement for announcements of the kind that now appear in Phame) is a comment function - there is no backchannel to ask questions etc. Filed as https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T144338
