Hello Wikimedia Gerrit users, due to issues with scrapers there has been work going on behind the scenes to move Gerrit behind our CDN. [1]
A TCP proxy service has been setup to make this possible for both the https and ssh parts of Gerrit without requiring config changes for end users. [2] A group of users has since opted-in and has been testing the new setup. Tomorrow, Tue Feb 10, around 1600 UTC (a little after 8am PST) we are going to make this change the new default for all users. The IP behind gerrit.wikimedia.org will change. It will point to a new gerrit load balancer in the POP closest to you, using geoDNS. [3] For example, for users close to esams it will become gerrit-lb.esams.wikimedia.org and accordingly for the other POPs. No change is needed on your side and you should expect everything to work as usual. A revert would be limited to the DNS change linked below.
