My impression is that of all the parsers listed in http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Alternative_parsers, mwlib is likely to be one of the most complete. Sweble could also be a candidate for the crown of alternative parsers. I would be very much interested in test results when run against MediaWiki's parser tests (672 tests right now). If an alternative parser reaches 97% of the normally enabled tests then I'd be *very* impressed. We are currently at 232 cases passing for the JS parser, although a handful of those still have some manually-whitelisted minor differences in output. Many simple things are also not yet implemented (image / file links etc).
